Music video

This lesson we talked about the songs that we will choose to do a music video for. We were presented twi tipes of situations that we get to pick from: either choose someone’s music for our school and have them in the video, or choose a song that is not well known and create the music video by choosing a character that would suit that voiice the most. In the second time we were told that we have to think about the gender, ethnicity, accent, age of the artist with should somewhat match our character.

Organic ideology

We were also given a few examples of artists that are individual such as Ed Sheeran, Jorja Smith etc. They usually play the game of success in this competitive market for a long time.

Synthetic ideology

The we talked about Bands or artists who got famous through shows such as X factor, or simply audition. These bands usually are formed for a specific target audience and their sucess is usually temporary because they might not necesarlly be that talented, but they are just a magnet for attenton, views and ultimatelly money through simply their looks. An example for that would be the Spice Girls.

What have we done?
What are the findings ?
How does it inform production.?

  1. A reasonable start here Maia, you've explained the difference between organic and synthetic artists fairly clearly. It would help to include a few of your own examples of these and put in some images that demonstrate the difference. It's also really important that you link these findings to your own production - are YOU thinking of finding a real artist and lightly shaping or making up an act from scratch by matching a track with a face/faces? What are the pros and cons of these two approaches?

  2. Also don't forget to use the inbuilt spellchecker there are several errors here that could easily be fixed in a few seconds!
